Creative Coathanger - Let's Make 2017

Creative Coathanger - Let's Make 2017

Creative Coathanger is proud to present a brand new programme of events in its new home at Venue 50. Let’s Make 2017 is a packed month of creative making and thinking.

We will be kicking off the programme with the Mapping the Borders exhibition, which is part of this year’s Being Human Festival, which takes place from 17-25th November 2017 as a nationwide celebration of the humanities.

Mapping the Borders exhibition is part of a series of events taking place in the Scottish Borders as part of the Being Human Festival 2017, a celebration of the humanities.

The exhibition will showcase the work of eight artists who have interrogated the idea of the Scottish Borders’: its landscape, culture, traditions and its identity. The exhibiting artists are Zoe Childerley, Mike Collier, Alec Finlay + Gill Russell, Kate Foster, Clare money, Inge Panneels, Andrew Richardson and John Wallace. Each art work will be matched with a corresponding map from the map archive from the National Library of Scotland.

The exhibition will be hosted by Creative Coathanger, in Venue 50, a new place for creative making and thinking in Galashiels.

The exhibition will be open from Saturday 18 till Saturday 25th daily from 10am till 6pm.
